I often joke that the ovarian cancer symptom of fatigue didn’t raise any red flags for me because I’ve been tired my entire adult life.
This week I got confirmation that that’s not a joke — I have, in fact, been tired my entire adult life. And now I know why.
Last Saturday I did an overnight sleep study that one of my doctors had prescribed earlier this year. While I vaguely knew what this was — I’d go to a hospital and stay overnight in a room that looked like a motel room, with wires attached to me while people monitored me while I slept — I didn’t quite know the extent of it.
This is what it was really like.
