What Is Rebuilding With Jennifer Garam?

Rebuilding With Jennifer Garam is my weekly newsletter all about starting over. For me, this comes after a cancer diagnosis changed the course of my life in 2018, and then the COVID pandemic put it on hold a couple years later.

But whatever your reason for starting over, or in whatever way you relate to the idea of rebuilding, I hope you’ll find solace, comfort, and inspiration here. And, if you feel like all the pieces of your life are not exactly in the right place, this newsletter will be a regular reminder that you’re not alone!

I deliberately chose the word “With” instead of “By” in my newsletter’s title, because I want to intimately bring you along on my quest to rebuild my life and share the ups and downs openly and transparently. I’ll look back at past experiences that have shaped me, delve into how to get unstuck, and hopefully, move forward, rebuilding my life one block — or newsletter — at a time.

I started blogging and writing online in 2006, and believe me when I say that I have been RAW and REAL in my writing (a quick Google search or scroll on any of my social media accounts will easily prove this point).

But in this newsletter, I will be more raw, real, and uncensored than I’ve ever been.

And in my opinion, it couldn’t come at a better time.

Why?

THE WORLD NEEDS REAL. Now more than ever.

All the bragging, posturing, and aspirational curating on social media; the filters that make everyone look like they’re 25 years old and all go to the same injector; the AI-generated content, and sadly, even AI-generated friends and romantic partners.

We don’t even know what real is anymore!

But we still need it. And you’ll find it here in your inbox every Friday 📬✨

Who Is Jennifer Garam?

I’m a longtime journalist, website editor, and blogger — I started my first blog on Blogspot almost 20 years ago! In addition to being a regular contributor to the website Everyday Health, my writing has appeared in numerous leading publications and websites, including The Washington Post, Allure.com, SELF.com, Redbookmag.com, VICE.com, Prevention.com, Health.com, HuffPost, and PsychologyToday.com, among others. As a website editor, I’ve worked for women’s lifestyle sites Brit + Co and former Time Inc. property AllYou.com, as well as the content arm of HR software company Lattice.

I’m a GenX-er, coffee lover, voracious reader, lifelong learner, yoga practitioner, and recreational dancer. I’m also a BRCA1-positive ovarian cancer survivor, breast cancer previvor, and women’s health advocate — if you’re interested in or impacted by cancer, or know someone who is, I publish articles for cancer patients and survivors and their caregivers on my personal website’s Cancer Blog, which you can read here.

Why Subscribe?

Rebuilding With Jennifer Garam does not publish free content, other than very periodic and minimal updates (usually of the housekeeping nature).

By becoming a paid subscriber, you’ll get full access to this newsletter as well as the complete publication archives, and you’ll be supporting me in being able to create content that’s authentic and real, in a world that no longer seems to value that and where’s it’s increasingly becoming more and more difficult to find.
